It's difficult to adequately express the depth of my respect and confidence in Jessica. Over the past two years, I've witnessed her unwavering dedication to her role and her commitment to strengthening the Saskatoon Teachers' Association (STA) in its mission to support Saskatoon's educators.

Jessica has spearheaded the transformation of the STA into an organization that, in my experience, serves its members more effectively than ever before. True to her nature as a great leader, she doesn't shoulder the burden alone. She actively recruits and mentors numerous teachers, empowering them to engage with the organization, thereby significantly enhancing its strength.

She is remarkably sharp, organized, and unafraid to speak truth to power, calling a spade a spade. Alongside this, she is a deeply caring and compassionate individual, always willing to meet people where they are and offer support. I am honoured to consider her both a mentor and a friend. She has my vote, and I strongly encourage you to give her yours as well.

Jessica exemplifies the qualities that make an outstanding leader: she is highly collaborative, always working together with teachers and other organizations to achieve the best outcomes for our local association. Her organizational skills are exceptional, ensuring that every detail is thoughtfully considered and that processes run smoothly.

Jessica is a respectful and empathetic leader who listens to all perspectives and truly values the input of others. She consistently makes decisions that are well-informed and in the best interests of teachers. Her ability to balance diverse viewpoints while remaining focused on what’s best for our profession demonstrates her strong leadership and dedication.

She has worked tirelessly to ensure not only transparency but accountability for all committees within the STA. Jessica’s desire for open and clear communication to all members has meant we now have a well informed and more engaged membership. 

As we prepared for yet another round of bargaining whether in our LINC agreements or provincially, Jessica is ensuring membership has the knowledge and skills to support negotiations and build a strong powerful collective voice for teachers. By organizing training sessions in these areas, Jessica is creating opportunities for all members to become more actively involved in the STA. 

With Jessica at the helm, I am confident that the STA will continue to thrive and that every educator’s voice will be heard and valued!

Over the course of her tenure, Jessica has worked tirelessly to advocate for Saskatoon teachers, consistently going above and beyond to support our needs. Jessica has also worked to ensure all Saskatoon schools are represented in representative assembly meetings.

As a leader, she encourages others to take on leadership roles and fosters a deep sense of passion for making a difference. She is a fantastic communicator and knows exactly how to communicate important matters effectively—skills that have served the STA and its members incredibly well.

Under Jessica’s leadership, the STA has been transformed into a flourishing local association, thriving in its mission to serve its members and advocate for teachers in Saskatoon. She has steered us toward a bright future, and I firmly believe that with her continued leadership, we will continue to build an even stronger, more vibrant community of educators. Jessica Brown has proved herself to be a leader capable of engaging, motivating, inspiring and supporting others in the diverse roles that are seen throughout the Saskatoon Teachers Association. I have had the privilege of working with Jessica Brown as part of the S.T.A. Executive. With her leadership the Saskatoon Teachers Association has become a stronger, more stable organization, better able to support the needs of Saskatoon teachers. It is my pleasure to write this endorsement for Jessica Brown for re-election as President of the Saskatoon Teachers’ Association.  Whether it be her passion for education or her understanding of the needs of teachers, her goal is to ensure that teachers and students are the number one priority in all of her work.  As the current President of the Saskatoon Teachers’ Association Jessica’s leadership has inspired others to improve the STA and advocate for teachers.  Jessica is dedicated and committed to continue her work on behalf of teachers and I strongly support her for re-election as President of the Saskatoon Teachers’ Association.

Jessica Brown has been an excellent STA president over the last two years. She has been a large part of making changes which improve member engagement, communications with members, and strengthening the checks and balances within the STA. Jessica has a forward looking vision for the STA and has been putting plans in place which apply the voices of all teachers to give us the best chance of improving our working conditions. Jessica believes in searching for and highlighting opportunties for every teacher in Saskatoon to take action to improve our work conditions. I've worked with Jessica in a number of areas in the last two years and I have been very pleased with her work as STA president. She is deeply competent, has a positive vision, is very energetic on behalf of the teachers of Saskatoon, and has a deep understanding of what being the President of the STA calls for.

I am proud to endorse Jessica Brown for re-election as President of the Saskatoon Teachers’ Association. Over the past two years, Jessica has proven to be an amazing leader, dedicating countless hours each week to improve the STA for its members. As the Executive Vice President for the last year, I have been in awe of Jessica’s complete commitment to this role. 

Jessica has worked to engage the STA executive in becoming active participants and developed a sense of shared responsibility. She has influenced policy to increase transparency, ensuring accountability and improved governance. Through her leadership, she has encouraged the creation of policies that safeguard against mismanagement of funds and create guidelines for professional conduct within our organization.

One of Jessica’s key achievements has been her work to expand representation across the schools in Saskatoon. She has ensured almost every school has a School Staff Representative to ensure all schools have a voice within the STA. She has also taken a proactive step in gathering personal emails from nearly the entire membership, creating an independent communication channel that allows us to stay informed without relying on the school divisions. 

In addition to her efforts locally, Jessica has worked closely with the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation to organize strike days and has strongly advocated for our rights during bargaining. Her leadership has also been pivotal in organizing our members, ensuring we are in a good position as we enter into LINC negotiations, both in GSCS and SPSD.

Jessica has an unbelievable passion for this work. She doesn’t put in the countless hours because it’s required of her, she does it because she is genuinely passionate about advancing the STA as an organization that is beneficial to members. 

Jessica’s hard work, strategic thinking, and dedication to advancing our profession have made a real difference over the past two years, and I am confident that under her continued leadership, the STA will become even better. I wholeheartedly endorse her for re-election as President of the Saskatoon Teachers Association.
